A novel and feature film script, I AM HUMAN is an atypical story about the final evolution of humankind.

In the middle of the 21st century, over-populated planet earth is battling the climate crisis, social collapse and the ever-increasing threat of war. Desperate to flee an unfulfilled life in the city, Atom Vélez takes a position as an astrophysicist working at a remote observatory in the Atacama desert. When Atom intercepts a mysterious signal from an unknown source in the southern constellation of Centaurus, he believes the transmission might be the help the world so desperately needs. In the final days before war breaks out, the observatory is abandoned but Atom refuses to leave. He is determined to translate the enchanting sound from the interstellar transmission, into a language the world might be better able to understand.


Broken is a geopolitical thriller set in Afghanistan during the fall of Kabul. The screenplay has been optioned and is in development. The heartbreaking love story follows the story of an ensemble of characters brought together by the tragedy pf war.


In THE LAST TRUE RECORD, history is not remembered, it is curated. Deep beneath the town of Velinora, the Archivists at the Department of Records manipulate the official history to ensure the present remains intact. When a grieving father, Michael Cantrell,  makes a single alteration in the hope of saving his dying daughter, fractures begin to appear in reality. Memories no longer align. Events change, and the truth itself starts to break.

As suspicion spreads through the Archive, a reluctant outsider, an ambitious young Archivist, and a compromised senior Chronologist uncover a devastating reality: this is not the first time the past has been rewritten, and so the people of Velinora learn, that the most dangerous lies are not told out of malice, they are told out of love.


Set during the 2008 financial crisis, THE MICHIGAN TURNPIKE is the wonderfully bittersweet love story of happily married couple Jack and Maggie Adams from Detroit Michigan. It is a touching metaphor for the death of the American dream.


Richard co-wrote a screenplay adaptation of the party-crashing Chuck Palahniuk best-selling novel RANT. The non-inear collection of interviews of the original novel follows story of the rabid serial killer Rant Casey who becomes obsessed with achieving immortality.
