Australian War Memorial /World War 1 Gallery

As well as being technologically innovative, the exhibit needed to provide a contemplative, educational and historically accurate account of war and provide a touchstone for the visitor  experience. Luscious was Executive Multimedia Producer for the full refit over a twelve-month  period, encompassing over 18 separate films, 100  digital touch screens, 3 major interactive exhibits  and the entire soundscape design.

audio

Sound was a crucial element in creating a seamless overall experience. We created a soundscape for each area, including battle scenes, recorded conversations, wartime music and atmosphere.  The end result was a historically authentic, contemplative and immersive experience.

film

‘Turning the Tables’ is a short film following the achievements of the Australian Infantry and Sir John Monash in holding the German front line in Somme, August 1918. The Battle of Hamel and Villers-Bretonneux were created as digital dioramas. The gallery design and exhibition experience have been met with positive press and are considered a benchmark for interactive and multimedia development.

The scope of work includes five documentary films, each based on one period and event from Cameron’s history  as an innovative film maker and explorer. Luscious took responsibility for design, creation and installation of the  three highly detailed touch-screen interactive experiences, a computer-controlled location specific soundscape  and a computer controlled interactive lighting system.
